One of the biggest misunderstandings today is how to get to God. There is no shortage of guidance available, but it hardly ever provides clear and solid direction. Unfortunately, it takes many people a long to figure out that these offerings are not solutions.

Religions, new-age concepts and skewed ideology funnelled through the media are the primary culprits in providing disinformation on the path to God. I do not favour any religion, including Christianity or Islam, since God is not bound to any religion but rather to his commands.

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Appointing God, not men

The desire to have a leader they can see is the downfall of many. In addition, their primary desire to pursue life outside of God while tacking him into available slots is another track to destruction. Putting weight on the words of Jesus instead of the world points clearly in a specific direction.

Do not submit yourself to the leadership of people, nor appoint yourself to be the leader. These are the explicit instructions of Jesus.

Jesus is your Master and God is your Father.

Nobody must exalt themselves above others; even the servants must submit to Christ and God. The servants must direct others towards their Master, Christ, and Father, God.

The word minister means servant; however, today's usage puts the wearer above everyone. It garners an aura that says those who wear the title sit above everyone else. Conversely, the imprint placed on the minds of men—the teachings of these ministers, go contrary to the commands of God.

Church & Work

Career and religion take precedence in almost everyone's life. These two drugs of deception lead away from God because it does not place God first.

We all have to eat, and despite Jesus's statement that God will provide (Matthew 6:25-30), we do not trust or know how to trust him to keep this promise. Despite what he said, many submit to the bonds of this world and, equally, to the god of this world—Satan.

Religion offers us comfort in numbers and an easy way to conform to the world while pleasing God. But those who remain in religion do not please God but rather submit to men guided by Satan. Religion, part of the abomination of desolation, is a powerful aphrodisiac taking many to hell.

The question still is, how do you place God first?

How to get to God

The key to getting to God is worship. Understanding worship is an obstacle heavily invested in by Satan. He has poured tremendous effort into distorting the meaning of this word, primarily through the actions of religion.

Worship is to keep the commands of God. Who you serve through following their instructions is who you worship. By not following the commands of God, you inadvertently follow the commands of Satan.

You signal your choice by seeking out God through his word and submitting to his commands. This signal makes it evident which side you serve. Nevertheless, Satan will not sit by and let you go so effortlessly. He will rally his troops and put every obstacle possible in your path. This is where the comforter, the Spirit of God, comes into play, guiding your steps and fighting your cause here on earth.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 KJV

To find God, search out his word and submit to him—worship him.

Seeking God

A genuine desire to know the truth of this world is an excellent step towards God. Understanding the truth comes from God and nobody else. No church, mosque or temple will lead you to the truth; rather, submission to the will of God.

The world is carnal—flesh and secular. God is spiritual and therefore does not dwell in the carnal but in those filled with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit comes from God and dwells in those who do the will of God.

Doing his will is the key to spiritual success.

Walk by faith

Nobody will come with you no matter how hard you try. Despite this, do not despair because you will find a few servants of God along your journey. Resolve yourself to keeping the laws of God and forfeit your life on earth.

Forfeiting your life means abandoning your earthly ambitions and desires. God is now primary in your life and every action you undertake must be towards fulfilling his will. Every action!

You will encounter many unknowns and fear barriers, but this is only a test of your faith. These tests will determine if your goal is to serve God or yourself. What good is pride to you? If you fall from grace in the eyes of the world, what does it matter? God is the one you serve.

Conclusion

There is no better day than today, so anyone afraid to step out alone will not make it into the kingdom. Submitting to men will not get you into the kingdom of God, and holding on to doctrines built on sand will undoubtedly lead to destruction.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
