Too old to change: What is purpose of the Journey?

Despite watching from the outside for many years, I was not too old to change. Often encouraged to attend church or to build my financial empire. I never saw the point of either—the greed, the constant greed, the vanity and the chase of the things of the world. Like smoke, it all vanishes without a point, yet the people chase. The congregation seeks comfort in the arms of the pulpit while they fornicate between the benches.

It took me years and extraordinary events to finally embrace God. After making the change, I went where everyone knows God is; religion. There I didn’t find what I expected; their doctrines followed a set path rather than what was written, and there was no budging that elephant occupying the entire room.

Some claimed they were too old to change now. The journey is tiring, but what was the point of serving in slavery for no reward?

Was this walk about them or God?

Are you tired?

Only those who endure till the end will make it to the kingdom of God. No more and no less. Indeed we must give everything in the service of God.

Two kingdoms are still on the battlefield despite the war being won through Jesus. The lost kingdom is that of Satan, but he will take every last person he can with him to death. He will not let up an inch, so why should you? He will fight until the last breath, so why shouldn’t you?

We must work, but for the correct kingdom. Time is important. Energy is vital. If we end up duped into serving the kingdom of Satan, the beast, we would have invested all our time and energies into the wrong side.

When it is all said and done, those who didn’t have the courage to serve will die in their sins? (Proverbs 5:11-13, Psalms 73:18-19)

The harlot

harlot/prostitude (meaning)
 - a person, in particular a woman, who engages in sexual activity for payment.
 - a person who misuses their talents or behaves unworthily for personal or financial gain.

For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Proverbs 5:3-5 (KJV)

The harlot of the scriptures is that woman who takes you away from God. She imparts to you doctrines that snatch your soul away from the Highest. This whore will consume you, defile you, take all your wealth, time and energy, and abandon you to your fate. This abomination disguises herself with lips sweet as honey and a mouth smoother than oil. She is dangerous as a two-edged sword and has sent many strong men to hell.

Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

Proverbs 5:8-13 (KJV)

For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Proverbs 7:26-27 (KJV)

Who is she, this harlot?

This harlot was created to establish the beast (kingdom of Satan) against the children of God. To destroy anyone who served the God of Israel and the God of heaven who is in direct opposition to the sins of this world. Their established idols infest the world, and their teachers teach those wanting to know God. But instead of teaching the true path, they teach doctrines of devils and are the synagogue of Satan.

The following passages speak on those institutions and systems created to deceive the people (Daniel 12:11Matthew 24:151 Maccabees 1:54-58). They are on every street corner in one form or another. Like harlots, they infest the cities spreading their wares and, with sweet lips, destroy strong men. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God, and those walking in their own understanding will fall.

The biblical harlot is religion. It puts itself between God and men—anointing itself as the messiah, the intercessor, the one that intercedes with God on behalf of man. She waits with open arms and full breasts to suckle those who yearn for milk and comfort (Hebrews 5:12-14). Her wares are always unique; ensure you do not stand inside her house because she will cut you down as easily as she will flash her warm smile.

Religion is the harlot of the Bible

Stay far away from her!

Proverbs 5:8 (KJV)

Many men and women believe they are strong and they know the truth. Yet they cannot escape her clutches, they are blind to what she has done and is doing. They are caught up in the divisive tactics and spend their time fighting and serving the god of this world instead of the God of heaven.

They even call Satan the second light, giving the glory of God to his enemy!

Too old to change

I started walking with God in my late thirties, and although I have stumbled many times, I have never turned back. The revelations which have put me down this road are so earth-shattering that they are hard to believe. I have let go of family, friends, colleagues, religion, doctrines and everything in my life. All have no part in the kingdom of God. I did this all through the Spirit and my desire to enter the kingdom of God.

At times I had fear, but I hated the world. There is nothing in the world that I wanted, but everything God had, I craved. That pushed me forward, and my prayers to him gave me strength each day as he opened my eyes. I enlisted in his army and served him.

The service does take a lot of energy, and I could understand why some resign themselves. Nevertheless, they must understand that God’s yoke is easy, and he is not the author of confusion. The root of their exhaustion comes not from God, but from the kingdom they serve. God refreshes while Satan diminishes.

Be still and know that he is God and his Son has overcome this world (John 16:33).

Who do you serve?

Who do you serve: The world, religion or God?

This question is of the utmost importance. To endure till the end, one must know their goal. They must have the conviction to reach this goal without wavering. But suppose you walked one hundred miles; would you faint one step from the finish line? Is it wavering when presented with evidence contrary to what you have believed for the last five, ten, twenty-five or fifty years, to you accept it?

If a doctrine glorifies God, is evidence-based and substantiated by the scriptures and the Spirit pleading within you, why reject it?

Are you addicted to the comforts and security of the establishments?

Do you need a shoulder to lean on?

Why not lean on the shoulder of God and the comforter, his Spirit, that we have access to because of his Son? Do you hear his calling, both to the young and the old? The shoulder of the devil is no more of a comfort than a sip of alcohol used to numb the pain of reality.

True strength is demonstrated by faith: Let go of your stabiliser and let God lead. Not just in words but in complete resolution and sacrificing your life, comforts, desires and mainstays for the truth.

Who do you truly serve, and how far would you go in their service? Do you serve God, or are you too afraid to let everything go, family, friends, religion, and the world, in his service?

If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine.

Matthew 10:37 (NLT)

Making the wrong choice

Drawing Wrong Conclusion

A blight on the mind is the doubt and fear of making the wrong choice. Do you doubt God? Do you know how his Spirit operates? Do you know where the wind comes from and where it goes? Such is the Spirit of God (John 3:8). The power of God is not within your understanding, so how do you doubt his Son’s words? He will not lose anyone that God gives him (John 6:39).

Do you not know that he guides your footsteps? Your steps are not your own.

I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own.
We are not able to plan our own course.

Jeremiah 10:23 (NLT)

Study his word and drink from your own cup. Let no one guide you besides God. How can you go wrong when God guides your steps and plots your course? What do you fear? The only fear you should have is of God—follow his words and not those of the world or religion.

There is no going wrong with the truth.

How to let go of the world

Consider the things in your life. Think about your job, trade, family, friends, relationships, house, car, sports, hobbies, education, academics, clothing, alcohol, gambling, etc. Would you give all of this up for God? Would you stop if that is what is required to please God? Would you let it all go, or would you say no at the point of your passion and make excuses? Would you say no because it jeopardised your security and comfort blanket?

This is what it takes to serve God. The willingness to give it all up and sacrifice your life on earth in his service. This is the meaning of dying to self where nothing else matters unless it is in the service of God.

Conclusion

We all must decide who we serve and how far we will go. There must be a decision of commitment, no matter how tired we are. If the enemy has worn us out, we must dig deep, breathe our second wind, and go again but this time leaning on God.

Satan didn’t start deceiving yesterday or the day you or your parents were born. He does not speak ninety-five per cent truth, and five per cent lies. All good things come from God; consequently, nothing good comes from Satan. It is all a lie, and you must break free and stand with God.

The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41)!

Bend a knee and commit, investing your last breath.
